NWA 2629
This is a fragment of the very rare NWA 2629 meteorite. This meteorite was found in 2004. It was a fragmented stone, with a total weight of only 244 grams. I bought it from a Moroccan meteorite dealer in Munich Germany. This meteorite is a very rare type of achondrite, an Olivine Diogenite (ADIO). The Diogenites are basically formed in the upper crustal area of the Asteroid Vesta. The difference between this new class of Olivine-Diogenites and the normal Diogenites is that these are believed to have formed much deeper down.
